About

Damian Szidiropulosz is a jazz guitarist steeped in the straight-ahead and bebop lineage. Originally hailing from Toronto, he is a former student of Bob Mover, Damian absorbed Mover’s deep knowledge of the classic New York alto tradition—translating its melodic clarity, rhythmic phrasing, and harmonic sophistication to the guitar.

Throughout the years he has made periodic trips to New York City, performing one-off sideman gigs with Dmitri Baevsky, Phil Stewart, Grant Stewart, and Clovis Nicholas, reinforcing his connection to the hard-bop and post-bop aesthetic. His playing balances bebop vocabulary with modern harmony and groove-driven sensibilities.

Now based in Southeast Tennessee, Damian performs in trio and quartet settings and is available for club dates, sideman work, and collaborative projects.
